QuickBooks Payroll Subscription Renewal: Step-Wise Guide

You need to find the exact payroll service that you are using for your company operations. Once you know the QB payroll service that you are currently using, you will be able to renew your subscription effectively. Here’s the process to find your payroll service:

(a) For QuickBooks Online Users 

• Open your web browser and access your QB Online payroll using primary administrator credentials. 
• Go to Settings, after which you should click Subscriptions and Billing.
• Finally, identify your payroll service (Core, Premium, or Elite).

(b) For QuickBooks Desktop Users

• Access your QB Desktop application using admin login credentials.
• Choose Employees, after which you will need to select the Payroll Center menu.
• At this point, choose the Payroll tab and identify the payroll service listed under the Subscription Status.

Here is how you can renew your payroll service subscription in QuickBooks Online and Desktop. 

(a) QuickBooks Online Payroll

• Open your QB Online account, after which you need to select Settings.
• Choose the Subscriptions and Billing tab and click Resubscribe for the payroll service.
• At this point, you need to verify all the details mentioned in the payroll subscription summary. 
• Type your payment information, after which you should select the relevant payment method. 
• Finally, tap Resubscribe so that your QB Online payroll service is renewed immediately.

(b) QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

You can use any of the following two options to seamlessly reactivate your QB Desktop payroll subscription:

Option 1: Using QuickBooks Desktop

• Open your QB Desktop application and select the Employees menu.
• Choose the My Payroll Service tab, after which you should click the Account/Billing Information option.

• Now, you need to sign in to your official Intuit account.
• On your official Intuit account page, you need to tap Resubscribe under the Status tab.
• Select the Payment Method, after which you should type your payment information.
• Tap the Place Order button to successfully renew your payroll service subscription.

Option 2: Using Web Browser

• Access your web browser application, after which you should immediately open your official Intuit account.
• Go to Status, after which you need to tap the Resubscribe option. 
• Now, choose the Payment Method option and fill out all the appropriate payment details.
• Click the Place Order button to promptly reactivate your QB Desktop payroll service.

Note: The renewal process for your payroll service can take up to 24 hours to complete. Once the process is finished, the Status will show as Active.

Once you have renewed your payroll subscription, you should go through your payroll setup to review your payroll data, such as taxes and employee information.

Here are the processes to check your QuickBooks payroll data:

(a) QuickBooks Online Payroll

• Access your QB Online account, after which you need to choose Payroll.
• Select the Employees tab, and you can choose the name of each employee to verify deductions, pay details, vacation data, etc.
• Open Settings and click Payroll Settings to verify the payroll tax rates.
• Once you have checked everything, tap OK to save the payroll settings.

(b) QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

• You should open QB Desktop to choose Employees.
• Now, select the Employee Center, after which you should tap the Employee tab.
• Review all details, such as tax deductions, salary/wages, and W-4 forms, of each employee.
• Open Lists and click Payroll Item Lists to check your payroll tax items. 
• Finally, click OK to save the verified payroll service data successfully.
